Still Waiting!

So, I am still waiting for other people with the Desautel surname (or family of surnames) to register and post an introduction news item telling us about themselves. I am also waiting for the few registered members we already have here to post the introductory article.

Come on people! It is not that difficult! Everything here is free, and you just have to register and start posting. How can I pretend to be a big-time web master if I'm the only one posting? LOL! Once you register, you can do any of the following:

  1. Post news items about yourself, your family, or just about anything you want.
  2. Ask me for a free email account. You can be joe@desautel.net, Joeblow@desautel.net, or whatever (first come, first serve). It is a complete fully-functional email account with web-mail access, and all free.
  3. Register in the photo gallery, and I will assign your name as a category, and give you complete control. You can then upload family pictures, vacation pictures, or whatever. Again, completely free.
  4. I have a discussion board set up as well, which hasn't been used yet.

The only requirement is that you have a surname or maiden surname that is in the Desautel family of surnames.

I am asking registered members to submit a news article introducing themselves and their families when they are given Author privileges. So, I had better do the same for myself!

I am a leading-edge boomer, born in 1947, and an educated, open-minded Liberal Democrat. I am logical and analytical to a fault, a Vietnam Veteran, and spiritual, as opposed to religious. I was born on the East coast, but lived most of my life on the West coast. I grew up in Southern California, and moved to the Seattle area in 1994.

I have been married three times, most recently for 15 years. My wife Karen passed away last November (2006).  I graduated from Mira Costa High School in Manhattan Beach, California, and I received a BS in Operations Management and an MBA from California State University, Long Beach. I spent the bulk of my work career as a computer professional, after 8 years in the field of Industrial Engineering. I have had a life-long case of "techno-lust."

I am in decent shape and good health, in spite of the fact that I had an angioplasty 11 years ago, and a bypass 5 years ago. I was lucky in that we discovered the blockages before I had a heart attack or any heart damage. So I am as good as new, except for being old! I also spent most of my life playing 2-man beach volleyball and basketball, so my heart and body are strong.

So, that is the quick-and-dirty on me. Come on you other registered members, lets submit your introductions (please do not use the "News Flash" category)!

Wow! I found a "Desautels Faculty of Management" page at McGill University in Montreal Quebec! Here is the info from the site:

Located in the heart of bilingual and multicultural Montreal, the Desautels Faculty of Management of McGill University is widely recognized as one of North America’s most globally diversified business schools. Considered among the top international business schools by such publications as the Financial Times of London, Business Week, America Economica, Le Figaro and Canadian Business, it is precisely this reputation that continues to attract only the best students, the most prominent professors and the most demanding recruiters from around the globe.
