Back From the East Coast
I have recently returned from spending a few days in the Providence, RI and the Attleboro/Plainville, MA areas with my brother and cousin. My cousin, Pam, lives in Rhode Island and my brother lives in the San Francisco area. We all spent our early childhood on the East Coast however. My family lived in North Attleboro and Plainville, and Pam grew up in Providence.
The occasion for this trip was my brother's 50th reunion at King Phillip High School in Wrenthem, MA. So we spent time locating and taking pictures of the houses where we and relatives lived in that area. Unlike the West coast, the old houses on the East coast are not as often torn down to make way for something new. We were able to locate three places we had lived in Plainville, and several other houses where relatives had lived.
All three of us attended the dinner for the reunion (Pam and I were guests), and Pam and I danced our butts off to the oldies (on a roomy dance floor). Walking the next day was a little tough though!
I will be adding a new album to my picture gallery called "Where Dave Came From." Watch for it!

The Picture Pages Have Been Updated
I have uploaded all of the pictures from my trip to the Philippines, and added some recent pictures of the house and yard in Sequim, WA. The photo gallery (see the link on the main menu) now has 4 albums.
The Philippines album has the pictures from the two weeks that Malen and I spent together in the Philippines. I am still adding some descriptions to these pictures, so the album is not quite finished. The last update on this album was on 8/8/09. This album does not contain any of the pictures of Malen, myself, or the three kids. Those pictures are in another album (see below).
The 2nd album on the main gallery page is titled "Pictures of Dave & Malen." This album contains all the pictures of Malen and I, and the family (April, Jedd, and Yeng). It was last updated on 8/3/09.
The remaining two albums are pictures of the house and land in Sequim, WA (last updated on 8/4/09) and pictures of the motor home we own (last updated in June).
This photo gallery only allows access to the smaller version (800 X 600 pixels), wich can be downloaded at that size. If anyone wants the full-sized versions (3648 X 2736 approx) let me know via email, and we can discuss it. Friends and family who want people pictures can have them for free, others who may want scenery or other pictures can have them for a small price.
Life is Good
Today is a beautiful, sunny day in the Pacific Northwest. I am retired, have a reasonable income from pensions and Social Security, also have a decent amount of retirement savings, I have a new love in my life, and the future is bright! Life is good indeed!
As I have said, I have a new love in my life, and though the processes for her getting her annulment (from her husband), us getting married, and her and her children coming to the US, are long and expensive, they have begun and we are confident that they will be completed. Malen and I are destined for each other. Things between us are so natural and easy that it seems we have always been together.
Malen is honest, open, giving, compassionate, attentive, loving, practical, organized, industrious, hard-working, intelligent, educated (masters degree), and attractive. She is 44 years old and has three children. Her oldest is in college (daughter Yeng), and her other daughter and son (April and Jedd) are both in High School. I have met the entire family and feel as if I have been accepted. Malen and I get along extremely well. Even though we live on opposite sides of the world, we talk together for hours on the Internet, using Skype (video & audio).
We met online in a manner that was very lucky. We could have very easily missed each other and never met. We began with great caution regarding commitments and relationships, but soon the attraction and compatibility took over and we began to fall in love. We kept telling ourselves and each other that we would wait and see how it felt to be together in person, but in our hearts I believe we knew we were meant for each other even before my trip to the Philippines. The two weeks we spent together confirmed our feelings and we became a singular unit. We are now family and committed to each other.
Her children are great, and they seem to have accepted me and the future that Malen and I are planning together. I have never been a demonstrative or emotionally transparent person, but if I was younger I would do a back flip in joy!
Be happy for us...
A New Love, A New Life, A New Family!
Earlier this year I met a woman online who lives in the Philippines, in the Manila area. After many long conversations with video and audio (using Skype), we decided that I should come and visit her. So, at the end of June, and until July 11th, I was in the Philippines with my new love, Malen.
This was a very special vacation for me, and Malen and I had a wonderful time together. We have fallen very much in love. I have never been with someone with whom I was this compatible. Malen is a very special person, and we match together very well.
Please take a look at the pictures of myself, Malen, and her three children, in my picture gallery (see the main menu on the left.
